Small Groups

We have a number of small (and not so small!) active groups here at the Good Shepherd Church. These groups play an important role in the Good Shepherd community, encouraging faith through fellowship in the informal setting of the host’s home or in our hall.

There are currently 2 house groups that meet on a regular basis. With a third group that meets on Wednesdays.

Each of our groups is very different in feel from the others with some having members from other churches or those who can’t make a regular Sunday service, but all are focused around the Bible, Prayer and tea!

Below is a list of the current groups supported by the Good Shepherd Church. If you’d like to join a group, or pop along to one of their meetings to find out more – please get in touch with the contacts below.

The Wednesday Friendly

We meet together as a group of friends and companions on the first, second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 2.30pm in the Church Hall.  You can find out a little more about our history by clicking me…

After the welcome, a very short service follows by singing a hymn, a scripture reading, prayers then a second hymn.

A variable pre-arranged programme consisting of speakers, quizzes and outings etc then takes place followed by refreshments.

The meetings finish by 4.00pm.

We extend a very warm welcome to all.

Manna is a women’s fellowship group that meets on Thursday afternoons, 2.30-4.15pm.

Our name comes from the Bible. Manna was the food, or bread, which God provided every day in the wilderness. It was good stuff and kept God’s people going for 40 years!

In John’s Gospel (John 6:37), Jesus declares: “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”

We all share a desire for more of Christ, and want to encourage each other in our walk with the Lord. We meet together informally for worship, Bible Study, sharing and prayer in members’ homes, finishing with tea and snacks. We are always happy to welcome new members.

Grange Park Prayer Connection

A small group of people from different churches in Loughborough who meet once a month at a home on the Grange Park Estate.

We pray for the Grange Park estate and surrounding area and all that goes on there.  This group is especially focused on the church plant that the Good Shepherd is resourcing, praying for those involved and offering support and encouragement for all who might need it.

We welcome anyone to join us who wants to see God’s transforming love in action in this part of the town. For more details contact Mark Smith,
