SAFEGUARDING

At The Good Shepherd Loughborough our safeguarding responsibilities are of upmost importance and we take these responsibilities very seriously.

If you have any concerns about a child, young person or an adult who may have been harmed or be at risk of harm please contact our safeguarding team. All reports will be handled following our safeguarding procedures which can be found below.​​​​

EMERGENCY SITUATIONS

Immediately​

1. If a child or adult is in immediate danger or requires medical attention, call the police and/or social services immediately on 999.

​

2. Contact a member of the Good Shepherd Safeguarding Team (contact details below). If someone has disclosed information to you then you will need to record and report all information shared. You can also talk directly to the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor if you'd prefer.

​

3. The Safeguarding Team will record and discuss with the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor within 24 hours. The DSA will then provide advice and guidance.

NON-EMERGENCY SITUATIONS

Within 24 hours​

1. Contact a member of the Good Shepherd Safeguarding Team (contact details below). If someone has disclosed information to you then you will need to record and report all information shared. You can also talk directly to the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor if you'd prefer.

Safe Spaces

Safe Spaces is a free and independent support service for anyone who has experienced abuse in relation to the Church of England, the Church in Wales, or the Catholic Church of England and Wales.

If you have been affected, however long ago, Safe Spaces can provide you with support. You do not have to have told the police or the church authorities, and you do not have to still be involved with the church. Your information will not be shared without your consent unless you or someone else is in immediate danger.
