A Call to Prayer
“As we have continued to keep in touch with each other and explored new ways of worshipping God, sometimes physically on our own, sometimes with each other, but regardless using the same or similar materials, I have become very conscious of the need for prayer.
Those times when we can somehow come close to Jesus, listen and talk to him, and ask for his help. I don’t know about you, but I have found myself doing this more frequently recently.
I do believe however, that we are called to do more than this. I believe that God is calling us to unite our prayers together. To that end I invite you to join with me every Wednesday at 12noon to pray for 15 minutes for our parish, our nation and the wider world, wherever you are – remembering that at present we are not using our building.
It may be that you have never done anything like this before – no matter – let’s take this opportunity now to come together for the people of our parish, our friends and family, for the people of our nation and the world, to ask God to heal the land as we hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise – as the writer to the Hebrews reminds us.”
